Pumpkins aren’t just for Jack o Lanterns, they make great decorations for Thanksgiving too.  This project uses a cupcake box template to make a pumpkin shaped box for use as a gift box or table decoration.

DIGITAL SUPPLIES

ADDITIONAL PROJECT SUPPLIES

  • Electronic cutting machine
  • Cream and green card stock
  • Brown ink/sponge
  • Patterned paper
  • Twine, Bronze brad, Leaf and Flourish die cuts

INSTRUCTIONS
Cut the cupcake box top and bottom with the electronic cutter and assemble.

Trim patterned paper so that it fits just inside the edges of the box top and bottom.  The sizes will depend on your finished box size.  I measured the area then took off an 1/8th of an inch all around. A little light brown ink was sponged around the edges of the paper before adhering to the box.

To make the stem, cut a triangle shape as shown.

Roll the piece and adhere the edges.  Tuck the notched edge under.  Crinkle the paper and twist into a stem shape.

Die cuts were used to make leaves and vines for the pumpkin and were attached to the top.

The stem was then placed on top of the leaves.

Leaves from the NATURE’S PAINTING KIT,  an outline from VINTAGE LABELS 1 STAMPS, and sentiment from THANKSGIVING SENTIMENTS DIGITAL STAMPS were printed on card stock.  The leaves and tag were attached with a twine bow and a brad.

This is nice as a centerpiece or fill it with treats and give as a hostess gift.

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Kim
